Jul 03- Jul 04  Today you depart from your home city to arrive at Beijing's International Airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the night. Tiantan Hotel (D)

Jul 05  Today we will be boarding our flight from Beijing to Lhasa. Our guide will meet us and then we will drive about two hours to the city of Tsedang.  Tsedang used to be the capital of the ancient Tibet Kingdom.  On your arrival you will want to take it easy, adjusting to the altitude change gradually.  Tonight we will stay at the Tsedang Hotel. Jul 06  Today you will will be visiting the Yomlankam Palace, the Tomb of the Tibetan King.  You will also have the opportunity to walk around and visit this Tibetan village.  Overnight at the Tsedang Hotel. (B.L.D)

Jul 07  Today will we drive to Lhasa and will have some wonderful sightseeing opportunities on the way.  We will be visiting the Samye Monastery and will also take a ferry and cross the Yalutsampo River. Overnight at the Tangkar Hotel. (B.L.D)


July 08  Today will be visiting visiting the Luobulinka Palace, Sera Monastery and the Drepung Monastery. Overnight at the Tangkar Hotel. (B.L.D)

Jul 09  Today will be visiting the Potala Palace which was built over 1300 years ago and is the largest and best-preserved ancient castle in the area.  This is where the Dalai lamas lived and worked. This afternoon we will visit the Johkhang Monastery and then we are off to Barkhor Street.  Barkhor street is filled with Tibetan arts and crafts and Buddhist artifacts and is located in the old town of Lhasa. Overnight in the  TangkarHotel. (B.L.D)

Jul 10  Today will drive 4 hours to Shigatse, the capital town of Western Tibet from about 500 years ago. There we will visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery which is the largest monastery of Gelu sect in western Tibet and the burial place of the 5th, 9th and10th Banchen Lamas. We will also visit the Xialu Monastery. Overnight in Shenkham Hotel. (B.L.D)

July 11 Today we will be driving about 8 hours to Tingri where you might have some viewing of Hishapangma peak (8,012m) on the way. You might also have a viewing of Mt. Everest while in Tingri. Tonight we will be staying in the Everest Hotel (B.L.D)

July 12  Today we will be driving about 4 hours to Everest base camp where we will visit the Rongbu Monastery.  Tonight we will stay overnight in the small Rongbu Guest House (B.L.D)
July 13  Today we will be taking a long drive back to Shigatse where we will be staying  in the Shenkham Hotel. (B.L.D)
July 14 Today we will drive back to Lhasa.  This evening we will have a Tibetan style dinner and enjoy the famous Yak Butter Tea. Overnight at the Tangkar Hotel Hotel. (B.L.D)
July 15 Today we will board our flight back to Beijing where we will end our pre extension trip and will then meet up with the rest of our eclipse group and begin our eclipse adventure. (B.L)
