Jul 19 - Jul 20 Today you depart from your home city to arrive at Shanghai’s International airport the following day and start your adventure to the high country of Tibet. Tonight we will stay at the Shanghai Tongmao Hotel. (D) |

Jul 21 Today will be all board our flight from Shanghai to Lhasa. We will take it easy, adjusting to the altitude change gradually. For those who have energy, a short walk through downtown will be arranged, but generally it’s good to have a nap and let your body adjust. We will have just flown from sea level to 10,000 ft!. Tonight we will stay at the Lhasa Hotel. (B.L.D) |

Jul 22 Today will be visiting Lhasa with tours of the Norbulinka Palace, Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery. Overnight at Lhasa Hotel. (B.L.D) |

Jul 23 Today will be visiting the Potala Palace which was built over 1300 years ago and is the largest and best-preserved ancient castle where the Dalai Lamas lived and worked. This afternoon we will also visit Jokhang Monastery and Barkhor Street, the marketing street for Tibetan arts and crafts and Buddhist artifacts in the old town of Lhasa. Overnight at the Lhasa Hotel. July 24 Today will Drive 4 hours to Shigatse, the capital town of Western Tibet from 500 years ago. We will visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery which is the largest monastery of Gelupga sect in western Tibet and the burial place of the 5th, 9th and 10th Panchen Lama’s, and we also will visit the Xialu Monastery. Overnight tonight in the Shigatse Hotel. (B.L.D) |

Jul 25 Today will be driving about 8 hours to Tingri. Here you may have viewing of Shaishapangma peak (8,012m) on the way. Hopefully today we may also be able to view Mt. Everest. We will stay in the Mt .Everest Hotel. (B.L.D) |

Jul 26 Today will be driving about 4 hours to Everest Base Camp and visit Rongbuk Monastery. From here we should get a spectacular viewing of the northern side of Mt. Everest. Will stay overnight in the small Rongbuk Guest House. (B.L.D) (Our excursion should take us above 5,000 meters. |

July 27 Today we will Drive approximately 12 hours back to Lhasa. This evening we will have a Tibetan style dinner and enjoy the Yak Butter Tea. Overnight at the Lhasa Hotel. (B.L.D) |

July 28 Today will be all board our flight from Lhasa back to Xian where we will end our adventure and meet up with the rest of our eclipse group and begin our eclipse adventure. (B.L) |
